Proper nutritional support is a serious concern about the health and wellbeing of children, women and men of all ages. To fulfill these needs and to combat the challenges faced by our country, Rashid Latif Institute of Allied Health Sciences took the initiative and established the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
Since 2014 Rashid Latif Institute of Allied Health Sciences is offering a four-year bachelor program "B.Sc. (Hons) Nutrition" under the affiliation of the University of Health Sciences, Lahore. Under this program, students are professionally trained in nutrition and dietetics. For practical training of students, the department has two hospital attachments, Arif Memorial Teaching hospital and Hameed Latif Hospital. The department is running the course under international standards and succeeds to score top position among other institutions. The four-year program aims to produce socially and ethically responsible graduates (Nutritionists and Dietitians) who will contribute to related professions, and society as a whole through quality education, research, and service. The professionally trained students can provide consultancy and advisory services in health departments, hospitals, NGOs, teaching and research.
To prepare professionals who enhance individual and community health through nutrition and dietetics practice, and research in a culturally diverse society to contribute to professional and scholarly knowledge in the fields of nutrition and dietetics.
