The 4th meeting of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) was successfully held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Computer Lab of RLMC. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tazeem Shahbaz, Director, Research Cell. In preparation, all researchers submitted hard copies of their proposals a week in advance. A total of eight proposals were received, of which seven were reviewed. One proposal could not be discussed due to the researcher’s absence. Researchers presented their synopses slides using multimedia, enabling in-depth discussions on the technical and ethical aspects of each study. IRB members actively participated throughout the session, contributing to a robust and collaborative review process. A unanimous decision was reached by the board on the approval of the reviewed synopses. The meeting was further honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Mudassar Ali, Vice Principal & Co-chairperson IRB, RLMC, whose valuable input enhanced the depth and quality of the discussions. This session highlighted the IRB’s continued commitment to promoting ethical standards and excellence in research at Rashid Latif Medical College.
