The Department of Oral Pathology at Rashid Latif Dental College aims to educate students in the study of oral and maxillofacial diseases, using a modern, evidence-based scientific approach. The department teaches how diseases of the oral cavity, jaws and related structures arise, how they develop, and how they are diagnosed. Students learn to connect basic sciences with clinical practice, so that they understand the biological basis of the conditions they will later treat.
Our mission is to build an environment that encourages intellectual growth, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving. Through lectures, practical laboratory sessions, microscopic examination of histological and pathological specimens, and case-based learning, students develop the skills to interpret clinical, radiographic and histopathological findings. These are the skills needed for accurate diagnosis and sound clinical decisions.
The department is committed to a supportive atmosphere for scholarly and creative work, including research, so that new knowledge is created and solutions to contemporary challenges in oral health are found. Our faculty combine academic expertise with a dedication to teaching and mentoring.
By equipping students with current advances in oral pathology and diagnostic techniques, the department prepares them to become knowledgeable, ethical and forward-thinking dental professionals.
