DEPARTMENT OF PROSTHODONTICS

The primary responsibility of the Department of Prosthodontics lies in the education and training of students in the restorative aspects of bringing a damaged dentition back to biologic health, with function, proper aesthetics and comfort. This is accomplished by teaching and practicing the clinical techniques of modern restorative dentistry and prosthodontics including implant dentistry based on current evidence in the related sciences.

PROSTHODONTICS TREATMENTS FALL INTO DIFFERENT CATEGORIES INCLUDING:

  • Removable partial denture (prosthesis for complete edentulous and partial edentulous patients.
  • Fixed partial dentures
  • Implant prostheses
  • Provide students with a solid intellectual and technical knowledge of restorative dentistry.
  • Teach students to apply their knowledge to deliver comprehensive dental care within the framework of each patient's cultural, medical, social and dental condition.
  • Instill the importance of aspiring to excellence and honest self-assessment.
  • Emphasize the importance of life-long learning for the successful practice of dentistry.
  • Teach students to put ethical considerations first in the practice of dentistry.
